Willowbrook Hospice, St. Helen's										Willowbrook Hospice provides palliative care for terminally ill patients within the St Helens and Knowsley areas.   This is a fresh and bright building that uses traditional materials and attention to detail to provide a non institutional atmosphere.   The grounds are carefully landscaped to provide a range of external spaces for walking and sheltered sitting.   The project received a Mention in the 40th Anniversary Civic Trust Awards as being "imaginative and sympathetic …sensitive…the building sits well in its landscape".   The new hospice was completed in 2000 for a contract value £2 million.
