Masterplan Design Strategy for the University of Wales, Swansea										The University needs to consolidate and expand core departments to continue to attract research and academic staff and to accommodate expanding student numbers. The Masterplan aims to provide:  a document to communicate a development strategy; a consultation tool for evaluating options; clear graphics and limited text to make understanding of the proposals straightforward; proposals to enhance the university estate by building on its greatest asset, its fine location; proposals that realise the full potential land, buildings and people; proposals that generate long-term academic and commercial opportunities.   The objectives of the Masterplan are to create new places and strong links, to build on local identity, to develop sustainability and to encourage an inclusive approach.
